Riley Strain’s body recovered from Nashville river, police confirm

The body of Riley Strain, the missing Missouri college student last seen two weeks ago, has been recovered from a Nashville river.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, officials recovered Strain’s body from the Cumberland River in West Nashville around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.

Police did not observe any “foul play-related trauma,” and an autopsy is pending.

Strain was last seen March 8 after he was asked to leave Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge Bar in downtown Nashville.

The 22-year-old was spotted several more times before he disappeared. Once on surveillance footage crossing the street from the bar, and then several minutes later on another security camera.

He also had a brief exchange with police.

The following day, Strain’s fraternity brothers, whom he was in Nashville with, reported him missing.

Police initiated a massive search for the college student, but search teams had been unable to locate him or any clues until March 16 when they found his bank card along the banks of the Cumberland River.
