Taylor Swift is making a whirlwind trip from Tokyo to Las Vegas to support her beau, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, at Super Bowl LVIII.
The Grammy-winning artist reportedly hurriedly boarded her private jet after wrapping up her Eras Tour show in Tokyo, embarking on a 12-hour journey to catch the big game.
According to the Associated Press, Swift's departure from Haneda Airport was shrouded in secrecy, with journalists catching glimpses of minivans arriving and individuals with large umbrellas obscuring views of the departing celebrity.
The pop sensation, 34, faces a race against time as she crosses multiple time zones to reach Sin City. Scheduled to touch down in Vegas by 5:30PM local time Saturday, she'll have nearly 24 hours to rest before cheering on Kelce and the Chiefs as they face off against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. Following the Super Bowl, she's expected to then make the journey Down Under where she'll kick off the Australian leg of her Eras Tour - but that doesn't kick off until February 16, so there's plenty of time for celebrating if the Chiefs are victorious.
The superstar songstress is expected to enjoy the game from a VIP suite, courtesy of Kelce, alongside her family, including her parents, brother, and his girlfriend, as well as Kelce's family members.
TMZ reported that Swift will also be accompanied by some friends, though their identities remain undisclosed. Kelce, known for his humor, jokingly lamented the expenses of hosting family and friends at the Super Bowl. "I'm not really doing much different other than just counting how much money I'm spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come," he quipped on his New Heights podcast, per Page Six.
While Kelce has supported Swift at her concerts, his busy schedule has limited his attendance. However, with the off-season approaching, Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, hinted at potential travel plans for the couple, suggesting they may explore romantic getaways together. In December, reports surfaced of Kelce's plans to pamper Swift with luxurious trips to Europe, booking opulent accommodations and dining reservations at top-notch restaurants to create memorable experiences for the couple.
And Swift is fortunate to be making it to Vegas in one piece after a crowd video from one of her Tokyo concerts showed the singer losing her footing and almost taking a nasty fall off a Folklore setpiece.
Travis' brother, Jason Kelce, has also spoken out about Swift's presence at the Chiefs' games - responding to the backlash the singer has received.
While some have accused the 'Better Than Revenge' singer of "ruining the NFL", Jason recently described Swift as an "unbelievable role model for young women across the globe", adding that: "The attention's there because the audience wants to see it, I mean, if people didn't want to see it, they wouldn't be showing it, I know that."
As Swift jets off to Vegas to root for Kelce, fans eagerly await glimpses of the power couple's Super Bowl weekend festivities and future romantic adventures. Honestly, this pairing may just be bigger than the Super Bowl itself.
