A man has boldly admitted he's happy to be single for a "long time" in his search for a woman with a "high-end appearance." Kevin, a 42-year-old machinist from Fife, Scotland, has made headlines for openly admitting he refuses to date what he deems "ugly women." He remains steadfast in his belief that he'll find true love only when he encounters someone who meets his high standards.
Kevin, who has experienced the highs and lows of relationships, is unapologetic about his selective approach to dating. He insists that he won't make concessions or settle for anything less than the ideal match, despite the potential consequence of a prolonged single life.
"I'm not into ugly women," Kevin told The Sun. "I'm not saying I'm Brad Pitt, but I know I can pull reasonable women. It does make it harder to find someone if you're only going for the high-end appearance.
"Your work is going to be a lot harder, and loads of other men are probably going to be after them. But I'm just not willing to settle for second best. I realize I could be on my own for a long time." While Kevin's approach may seem unconventional to some, it's driven by his refusal to compromise his standards, even though it might result in a lengthier search for the perfect partner.
Kevin, who also goes by the handle @boerboelblade2 on TikTok, has navigated the dating world for several years. He previously engaged in a long-term relationship and has been single on and off for the past three years. Despite trying various avenues to find love, including dating apps, his search has proved to be challenging.
"I've lowered my standards before, and I never enjoyed it. I'll not be doing it again," Kevin explained.
Some women had a surprising response to Kevin's declaration that he won't date "ugly" people, as they took to social media to express their relief.
"Delighted to come here as an average looking woman and declare myself safe from his clutches," one woman wrote, as a second added: "Yeah I’d happily mark myself safe from this guy."
A third person said: "On behalf of us average looking women, I thank you that you won't look twice at us."
Kevin's ideal woman, he revealed, is someone who is attractive, busty, with long hair that isn't tied up. Despite the challenges he's faced, he remains optimistic about one day finding the perfect partner. "Finding the right person in life is a real thing. I've never met that person. I hope I do," he said.
Yet, Kevin is also content with the possibility of remaining a lonely heart for as long as it takes to find that special someone. He emphasized that being single is a conscious lifestyle choice for many, and he is no exception. "People always ask me why I'm single. I could have a girlfriend. I'm decent looking. I make decent money. But lots of men are single because they want to be and they refuse to settle. It's a lifestyle choice," Kevin concluded.
