In the previous week, Gomez utilized her Instagram Stories to share a black-and-white picture of herself leaning against a man's shoulder without offering any explanation. However, keen fans promptly noted the possibility that the man in question could be Blanco, considering their recent social media activities.
But things really started heating up on December 7 when the Rare Beauty founder liked a post by the celebrity news fan account PopFaction, who posted a carousel alongside the headline Selena Gomez Seemingly Confirms That She Is in a Relationship, which she commented "facts."
The post contained images and clips of the star, notably one taken from an episode of Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays where she confirmed that she "has a crush on someone."
While some fans were happy for the star, others left some pretty distasteful comments to which Gomez did not hold back when it came to defending her new man.
"I don't comprehend. If you genuinely care about me, this is when I'm at my happiest. Feel free to express your opinions, but I won't let your words dictate my life. Never. I'm done. If you can't accept me at my happiest, then it's best you're not part of my life at all," she retorted.
