Microphone Cardi B launched at a fan in Las Vegas goes up for auction for charity

Cardi B has been making headlines this week after she was seen throwing a microphone at a DJ, before hurling one at a member of the audience in two separate incidents in Las Vegas.
The rapper, 30, was seen performing on stage at Drai's Beach Club in Las Vegas over the weekend, when a fan threw a cup of liquid at her while she sang her 2018 hit 'Bodak Yellow'.

After being shocked at the sudden flood of liquid flying at her, Cardi was seen throwing her microphone at the alleged culprit, who was quickly removed by security.

It came after a string of recent incidents where fans have thrown objects at performers on stage, with Bebe Rexha getting injured and needing stitches after being struck by a phone, as well as Ava Max being slapped by a random audience member.

Cardi's reaction came less than 24 hours after she had thrown another mic at a DJ at the same venue after he apparently kept dropping the volume on her track 'I Like It' while she performed barefoot.

The rapper was seen shouting out her name before turning and throwing her microphone in the direction of the DJ.

While the reason for it wasn't immediately obvious to some, fans pointed out that the DJ had cut the track short on a few of her songs.

While there's never an excuse to throw a microphone at someone, at least Cardi's mic will end up helping some good causes as it's set to be auctioned off for charity.

The piece of equipment belongs to an audio production company called The Wave which is based in Las Vegas, and will be auctioned off.

Scott Fisher, the company's owner told TMZ that it was easy to identify which particular mic it was that Cardi threw as there is a piece of tape at the bottom of it saying "main".

He also revealed that despite it being flung into the crowd, the microphone is still fully functional, should the new owner choose to use it for its intended purpose rather than just frame it as a piece of pop culture memorabilia.

The microphone was listed on eBay with a starting bid of $500 and the piece of equipment originally cost $1,000 when purchased.

Clearly, a lot of fans are clamoring to get their hands on it as it had already racked up 47 bids at the time of writing, pushing the price up to $50,800 with six days left of the listing.
Here's hoping the high bidders follow through with their purchase as the proceeds are set to be split between two charities - the Wounded Warrior Project benefitting veterans and Friendship Circle Las Vegas which helps teens and young adults with special needs.

As for Cardi, she is named in a battery suit filed by a woman who was in the crowd when she threw the microphone, according to TMZ.
