Coco Austin is no stranger to hearing unsolicited opinions about her parenting. The model, who shares daughter Chanel with husband Ice-T, loves to share photos on social media, which are almost always met with some sort of backlash. Many of her followers seem to take issue with the close relationship she has with Chanel, who is her only child, and have no problem letting her know it as often as they can.
Coco called her daughter her 'obsession.'
In the video, Coco and Chanel are living out their best mermaid fantasies and swimming to the bottom of the pool.
"Having fun with my Samsung phone, it actually takes great video underwater ... Chanel just loves kissing her mama doesn't she? She is adorable ... She is my obsession #motherdaughterlove #mermaids," Coco captioned the post.
Coco is wearing a bikini and Chanel is wearing a blue one-piece swimsuit in a shade of blue similar to the one in her mom’s suit. They are seen diving into the pool and meeting to share a cuddle underwater.
The camera then cuts to Chanel, who is sitting in her mama's lap. They share a kiss on the lips before Coco begins to swim them to the surface.
Her followers wasted no time sharing their opinions.
Coco's fans seemed to take issue with the fact that the 7-year-old kissed her mother on the lips, along with the way that the mom was holding her daughter in the pool.
"This is too much, I think giving your child a lil kiss on the lip is a loving & a healthy way to show affection ... BUT holding the kiss for longer then a sec is too much and goes over the line," one person commented.
"The kissing thing is a bit weird though," another person added.
"I know the kissing and the way she is on top of her is extremely weird," another commenter replied.
On the other hand, a lot of Coco's followers thought she was just being a good mom by showing her daughter affection and the "weird" behavior is actually coming from the commenters who take issue with their closeness.
"Showing love and affection with your children is so important for their mental health!! Wish [there] wasn't such a stigma about showing affection in past generations! Love this!" one person wrote.
"Some of y’all in the comments grew up in households with zero affection & it makes me really sad for y’all," another commenter added.
By now, she's likely used to the controversy.
This isn’t the first time that a video the mother daughter duo made has people upset.
Back in April, Coco shared a video of the two in matching black and white outfits and dancing. In the video, Coco lifted her leg and Chanel smacked her upper thigh to emphasize the dance moves. People rushed to call the dancing "inappropriate."
"Chanel always makes me do these weird dances I just go with it," she captioned the video.
Seems like she's just as unbothered now as she was then.
