Malcolm In The Middle Reese actor hasn’t acted since show and is now a dad

Since the conclusion of Malcolm In The Middle, the actor who portrayed Reese has not pursued further acting opportunities and has transitioned into fatherhood.
The popular television series enjoyed a successful run of seven seasons, spanning from 2000 to its final episode in 2006. During this time, the audience grew fond of characters like Hal, Lois, and their children Francis, Dewey, Malcolm, and, notably, Reese.

The show, centered around a dysfunctional family, comical sibling rivalry, and the challenges of growing up, held a special place in the childhoods of many kids from the 90s. Several of its cast members went on to achieve success in Hollywood.

Nonetheless, some chose to step away from the entertainment industry after the show's conclusion. Justin Berfield, who is now 37 years old, was only 14 when he took on the iconic role of Reese, the energetic and hilariously funny second oldest among the four brothers.
Despite being a beloved character in all 151 episodes of the show, his acting career in the film industry failed to progress after that point.

When Malcolm in The Middle concluded, Berfield was a youthful and lively 20-year-old, leading many to anticipate his enthusiasm for taking on new projects. However, it appears that the young actor had different plans.

Though he hasn't explicitly explained why he chose not to continue acting after leaving the popular sitcom and the fame that accompanied it, he has provided glimpses of his life on social media.

Berfield's Instagram account, boasting 235k followers, currently holds 28 posts. Among these, nine feature him posing with his baby or baby-related items, while eight show the star alongside some aquatic companions. Curiously, he hasn't made a single post since January of this year.
So, what is Justin Berfield up to these days?

It appears that Berfield has shifted his focus to working behind the camera rather than pursuing acting roles.

In 2010, he took on the role of Chief Creative Officer at the production company Virgin Produced. Working alongside the company's CEO, Jason Felts, Berfield discussed his responsibilities in an interview with Variety.

"We are dedicated to developing and producing films and television shows that break away from traditional norms," he revealed. "We aren't afraid to push boundaries with our content."

Virgin Produced has been involved in several well-known projects, including titles like Limitless, 21 and Over, The Edge of Seventeen, Bad Moms, and That Awkward Moment.

In a 2011 interview with Agora Hills Patch, Berfield elaborated on the reasons that led him to pursue a career in producing despite having a successful portfolio of acting work.
He expressed, "The moment when I realized that I had been part of two shows that reached over 100 episodes and felt content as an actor, I made the decision to venture into producing.

"I believe people are constantly seeking fulfillment, and nothing ever feels completely satisfying, but I consider myself fortunate to have experienced the journey I've had so far."

Clearly, the actor-turned-producer is pleased with his choice, as he expressed his satisfaction with his current job to TV Is My Pacifier.

"I genuinely enjoy it," he stated.

When discussing the disparities between acting and producing, he further commented, "Both paths have their own distinct characteristics, but I am truly relishing what I'm doing and where I am right now.

"It comes with a whole new level of stress. A different kind of stress, yet both are rewarding in their own ways."
