Does anyone actually enjoy visiting the DMV?
It's a task that nobody anticipates with excitement.
When the moment arrived for her license photo, the 42-year-old ensured she appeared picture-perfect by having her dedicated team of makeup artist Ariel Tejada and hairstylist Chris Appleton ready and waiting.
In an episode of The Kardashians, the mother of four arrived at the DMV accompanied by her glam squad. Kardashian sported a sleeveless black mock-neck top, an oversized varsity jacket, and flaunted her $450 Balenciaga pedicure flip-flops.
During her visit, the reality star found herself engaged in a discussion about her height, claiming to be "half an inch" taller than her recorded height on her license, which stated 5'3.
There was also a moment of indecision for Kardashian as she contemplated whether to include "West" in her name on the form. Ultimately, she decided to stick with Kardashian and omit the additional surname.
When the time came for her license photo, Kardashian worked her magic and effortlessly captured some outstanding shots. Although she did have to request another attempt, she admitted.
It's certainly a far cry from popping into a photo booth at Sainsbury's and hoping for the best, isn't it?
Fans had mixed reactions to Kardashian's extravagant behavior.
One supporter expressed, "This is what every girl would do if given the chance. I respect it." Another comment read, "She took 'never caught unfresh' to a whole new level."
However, not everyone was impressed by Kardashian's extravagant behavior.
A critic remarked, "Kim Kardashian shutting down a DMV and bringing her glam squad for her license photo is the most insensitive thing I've ever seen..." Another person said, "Imagine planning your entire day around going to the DMV (because you really need to) only to find out it has been shut down by Kim Kardashian, who wants to be pampered and dolled up for her driver's license photo."
Clearly, opinions are divided. Some find it amusing and secretly admit they would want to indulge in such liberties, while others view her conduct as out of touch with the rest of society.
Nevertheless, Kardashian is not the first celebrity to make a spectacle out of visiting the DMV.
Victoria Beckham famously dressed up for her license photo and even requested a retake when she was dissatisfied with the initial picture.
Unsurprisingly, the employee was not in the mood to cater to her vanity.
